1969 was a year of peace, love, flower children,
John Lennon, perception altering substances, dead heads &
woodstock. It was also the year David's Gallery opened in the small
town of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Forty three years later, David's
Gallery continues to flourish with the same ambience of peace, love
and rock n' roll! At one time there were branch stores in Mobile,
Auburn, and Orange Beach. As Carolyn Hall (owner) got older and
wiser, she decided "simplicity" was the key to serenity and
downsized to the original location in Gulf Shores, Alabama at 809
Gulf Shores parkway - only 5 blocks from the
beach.
In 1992, the Yoga Center was added
offering all levels of yoga, tai chi, and massage. In 1999,
tattoos, piercings, and henna temporary body art and hair services
(braids, hair wraps, feathers, etc) were added. We began with the
traditional peace sign and all that it represents. Ten years ago,
we twisted that peace sign with the belief that "life is better a
little twisted"! The heart of the business is the attitude of the
employees, tattoo artists, piercers, and yoga teachers.
